The notary's duties are to protect the public interest, public safety and fiscal and social policy.

The Notary is constantly striving for the improvement of the quality of the provided services and for its continuous training and information, for the benefit of the trading public. The Greek Notary is part of the World Notary Association.

Participates in the organization of international conferences and seminars, in the preparation of comparative studies and in general in the global development of the notarial institution.

The notary deals with all kinds of notarial matters, such as buying and selling real estate, parental benefits, donations, inheritance payments, establishment, modification and abolition of horizontal and vertical property.

It also undertakes, according to cohabitation, acts of child recognition, consent to assisted reproduction, consensual dissolution of marriage, assignment of custody, communication and maintenance of children.
